Hiroshi has been a Partnership Manager at Orange Japan, Orange Group’s wholly-owned open innovation center in Tokyo since 2010.
Hiroshi is in charge of developing partnership with start-ups in Japan and Asia. Hiroshi launched a startup accelerator program, Orange Fab Asia in 2013 in Tokyo followed by Seoul and Taipei in 2014 supporting Asia based startups to go global.
ST Chua helps Sunway, one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Malaysia to participate in the digital economy via venture capital investments. He was instrumental in setting up Sun SEA Capital, which is a jointly operated VC fund together with the founders of KK Fund with a focus on investing in Southeast Asia startups. ST brings with him, a wealth of global experience which includes founding and exiting a hospitality business and developing a multi-million online business across 29 countries globally in a venture capital based in Germany and is a co-founder of multiple ventures, including a FMCG distribution company, a predictive analytics company and a financial-tech startup.
Andy Kondo has been serving the Internet/Telecom industry for more than 2 decades. Out of the period he spent over 12 years in the States, including cities of Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, and the Silicon Valley. Having spent over 7 years in the Valley, he reverted back to Tokyo in 2016 to join NTT DOCOMO VENTURES (NDV) as the Managing Director of investment and corporate operation.
At NDV he established new branch of the company in the valley to enhance its activity, and set up 2 new funds consecutively just in 2 years.
Norhizam Abdul Kadir (or Hizam) brings with him over 15 years’ experience in multi-market IT and energy industries across Asia Pacific. He has strong experience in corporate marketing, end-customer sales, business development, communications and channel marketing and enablement. His last employment was Director of South East Asia for Ballard Power Systems.
He was with Intel for a period of 12 years, starting with his role as the group communication manager for Intel South East Asia and left Intel in 2014 with his last post as the Sales Director for Intel Malaysia. Hizam was also in Microsoft Malaysia as Partner Marketing Lead in 2010 before re-joining Intel Indonesia as Marketing Director.
Ashran is a serial entrepreneur with his first exposure to startups in 2001. Some of his notable accomplishments include Rave Ventures and ComicXcel. He laid the foundation for an ASEAN regional award for startups with Rice Bowl Startup Awards. He also co-founded Asiastream Group and social content networking site, Joota, which at its peak valued at USD 20 million, with patent and distribution partners in USA.
Dr. Lau is the founder of LEAD and founding director of MaGIC Academy. He has trained and advised major companies, organizations, and government agencies across countries including IBM, OCBC, Standard Chartered, Intel, and Jabil. Currently, Dr.Lau focuses on helping clients and mentoring startups.
Prior to Next Academy, Audrey was a consultant at Ernst&Young where she handled companies from various industries and exposed to different aspects of businesses. She then move to startup scene as the CEO of Next Academy, coding and digital marketing school in Southeast Asia, with vision to educate and empower passionate individuals with the power to code and create, the power to market and grow.
Kazuya Murata leads activities in Southeast Asia in NTT Docomo Ventures, the corporate venture capital of NTT Group. After a career of IT infrastructure specialist and project management, he experienced Post Merger Integration of acquired companies in NTT Group before joining NTT Docomo Ventures.
Apart from his role in Mountain Partners Malaysia, he is an active advocate of fintech applications and the Councilor of CPA Australia, Malaysia division. He was previously, the COO of an equity crowd funding platform operator. Executing corporate finance transactions as well as investing and incubating start-ups in the ASEAN region are some of his specialities.
Shannon Wong invests in startups and strategic ventures for Astro's corporate venture capital fund. Previously, he co-founded a startup focused on recruitment which client list consist of 15 multinationals companies in Malaysia. Then in Bain, he specialised in Strategy, private equity and operational improvement for clients across Southeast Asia, China and Australia, spanning multiple industries including retail, ultilities, banking, and Telco.
Shafinaz currently holds the post of Acting Head of Technology Hub Development Division in Cyberview Sdn Bhd. She has more than 10 years of working experience various capacities. Her vast experience includes strategy and planning, investment promotions, assessment of multiple software technologies and solutions, technopreneurs and enterprises capability development, and had managed more than 100 clients at one time from local Start-Ups, LLCs to technology MNCs.
